Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! It’s going to be an amazing school year! I have some super fun and exciting things planned for this school year but first let me introduce myself!
This is my 2nd year here at FPS as the music teacher! I graduated from Tarleton State University with my bachelors in Music & Child Development. I have 3 kiddos who are in 1st grade and the twins are in 2nd grade this coming school year! My husband was in the Army after we graduated from college and we love traveling because of our adventures in the Army! I grew up in San Antonio, TX but have very old roots here in Fredericksburg with my mom’s family being one of the founding families back in the 1850s! I fell in love with music at a very young age and decided to be a music teacher after having such a wonderful elementary music teacher! My main instruments I play are oboe, piano, and classical guitar! I try to be very active in my community from helping my husband with his FFA students to performing in our church bell choir! Anything musical I can get my hands on I jump in feet first! When I am not teaching or diving into music I love to spend time with my beautiful family, work on our ranch, COOK yummy food, and travel the world! Culture and the world’s amazing music is so important to me and I share this love with my students every week with our fun magnet of the week activity! It’s going to be such an exciting year and I am so excited to share this amazing passion of mine with these beautiful little minds!

Performance Dates: Each performance typically lasts about 20-30 min and will be hosted in the evenings (Times TBD). All students are extremely important for each performance but students with spoken lines are especially important to be present and on time to these performances. Here at FPS we LOVE to use technology! I use YouTube as a platform to connect with parents and family! I will periodically put videos of myself showing students songs that we are learning for an upcoming performance in order for them to practice at home! I also will be putting their performances up to share with friends and family! We also love to use these QR codes to easily share links with parents. Most phones created after 2017 have the scanner built in to your camera feature but if not please download a QR code scanning app. If none of these options work or if you need some extra help please let me know! I want everyone to be able to reach the content I will be sending home throughout the year. Please click on the SUBSCRIBE button so you will get email notifications when a new video is uploaded for students and parents!

Amazon is an amazing shopping resource for teachers in general! It makes our job just a bit easier and I have often been asked what the community or parents can do to help out our amazing music programs here at FISD. Here is a list of items that would benefit our student’s musical education and help them to be their absolute best! Feel free to visit my list using the link here....Amazon Wish List
