Hello! I would like to welcome you and your child to Fredericksburg Primary School and to Kindergarten!

I was born and raised in Gillespie county. I attended elementary school at Stonewall Elementary School through fifth grade. My small class, averaging about 12 students from year to year, then continued on to Fredericskburg Middle School. I knew from the first day of Kindergarten with Mrs. Jenschke, I wanted to be a teacher.  I would line my stuffed animals up on my bed and assign them all the work to do, and would then make my poor younger sister actually do all of the work for them. 

When it came time to graduate from Fredericskburg High School in 2004, my career plan had not changed. I decided to enroll in Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi and start my degree and dream of becoming a teacher. While there, I met some amazing students, professors, colleagues, and friends. I did my field-based studies in Corpus Christi with a group of 5th graders that were stunning! In the fall of 2008, I returned to Stonewall Elementary to complete my student teaching with both second grade and kindergarten under two of the best teachers I know! In December of 2008, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from TAMU-CC with my certificate to teach Early Childhood- 4th grade. 

I was hired to teach Pre-Kindergarten in the Fall of 2009 at Fredericksburg Primary School. I taught full day pre-k for two years before the program switched to half days. I then taught two half-day sessions of Pre-K for two more years.  In 2014, I moved to Kindergarten to teacher math, science, and social studies with Mrs. Reeves. I then switched partners in 2018-2019 to work with the very talented, now retired, Mrs. Penny Calcavecchia. In 2020-2021, I started teaching with the Dual Language team with Terry Vasquez until she retired. Erika Martinez and I are grateful to be teaming together now!

In addition to teaching, I have served as the Kindergarten Lead Teacher and the Math Team Lead. I love spending my days with students who love coming to school, are eager to learn about any and everything, and believe I am "magical"! It is a great honor to see your child every day!
