Katie Burns 

3rd Grade Math and Science Teacher 

Hello 3rd graders and parents.  I have been teaching for 22 years.  I taught first grade for 11 years and third grade for 11 years.  I graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now called Texas State) with a BA in Psychology.  I got my Teacher Certification to teach Elementary School with a Reading Specialty through UTSA. I teach with Karyn Rode, who is the best teaching partner ever!  She used to be my student teacher.  We have had a great time teaching together.

I am married to George Burns, who teaches Spanish at FHS.  We have three smart and beautiful girls, Savannah, Gloria and Eleanor.   Things I love: traveling - I have been to nine other countries: England, France, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Turkey and Italy.  I have been to several fun cities in the US as well.  I love coffee, chocolate, going for walks, reading books (especially mysteries), playing games, and visiting with family and friends. 

I can't wait to meet everyone!
