Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Melissa Metzger and this is my tenth year teaching 1st grade! I am really excited for the school year and all of the fun we will have learning.

To start off, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally. I am a native of Fredericksburg and graduated from FHS. I am also a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Mulitdisciplinary Studies and a concentration in ESL. I love going camping, hiking and cooking. My husband, Todd, works for the Sheriff's Dept. We have two kids, Shelby (13) and Brice (6), and they keep us on our toes. We also have five fur babies, Max (a tabby), Libby (a Brittany Spaniel), Otis (a Shih Tzu), and Zelda and Hilda (our classroom pet guinea pigs).  

I would like to work closely together with you, and believe frequent communication is vital. If you ever need to get in touch with me I can be reached at the school (997-7421) or you can email me anytime (melissamet@fisd.org). My conference time is 12:50-1:50 everyday.
