Mrs. Marlo Wallendorf
Kindergarten and 1st grade Resource and Inclusion Teacher
Hello y'all!
My name is Marlo Wallendorf and this is my 16th year working in Special Education! I have been married for 16 years to my wonderful husband, Aaron. We have two boys, Fritz (11) and Dietz (7). I started my career at Lockhart Junior High School in Lockhart ISD. I spent 9 years there as the Resource and Inclusion teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I taught Math and Science and the occasional Social Studies class. I loved working at the Secondary level but I needed to continue to cultivate my craft, so I went down to the Elementary level. I was recruited by a former colleague to Klein Road Elementary in New Braunfels ISD. I got the opportunity to learn and experience so many new situations. I spent 3 years at this campus and didn't want to leave it, but my family and I came to a crossroads in our lives and needed to decide where we wanted to move to. New Braunfels or elsewhere? We ended up making the best possible choice by returning to my husband's hometown, Fredericksburg. I did have to work at the Elementary in Blanco ISD for a year and learned so much from that experience as well, before I became a candidate for employment here at the Primary School. I was truly at the right place at the right time when FPS was expanding their Special Education program to have a Resource/Inclusion teacher. I also work with our students that need behavior support.
Special education is so diverse and I understand what makes these people learn, retain what they learn and grow. As well as understanding the academic and behavioral needs of these fantastic humans. Teaching is the ultimate service and I am so happy my life has turned out to be a service to others!
