Credit by Examination (with prior instruction) is an option for students who have had previous formal instruction but who have not earned credit for one or more specific courses.
Credit-by-Examination “with” Prior Instruction is administered for the purpose of credit recovery and designed to address the needs of the following:
- The student is enrolling in the district from a non-accredited school,
- The student has failed a subject or course, or
- The student has earned a passing grade in a subject or course but has failed to earn credit due to excessive absences.
Credit by examination “with” prior instruction requires a score of at least 70 percent on the exam to earn credit.
